Gen.G part ways with Foxy9 by mutual agreement
Gen.G terminate the contract with Yung Foxy9 Jae Son after eighteen months together.
“LFT in all regions. I feel most confident playing the Sentinel role, but I am also comfortable playing other roles. I really want to win. I desperately want to play,” said Foxy9.
Foxy9 debuted at the professional level in 2021, playing in Korea and Japan for teams such as REIGNITE FOXX and DRX. At the end of the 2024 season, Foxy9 joined Gen.G Esports as part of a large reshuffle during which the team had to look for replacements for Shanghai Esports Masters 2024 champions Meteor and Lakia. While Gen.G Esports went through ups and downs in the 2025 season, Foxy9 was a pillar of the team and helped them finish 5th-6th at VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025. However, after the end of the season, Gen.G Esports moved Foxy9 to the bench, signing DRX Academy player ZynX.
In 2026, Gen.G Esports, having failed the start of the season with a 1-3 series record at VCT 2026: Pacific Kickoff, once again fielded Foxy9 in the starting lineup as captain in their first match of VCT 2026: Pacific Stage 1, but quickly brought back Ash, parting ways with Foxy9 less than three weeks later.
The team’s full roster now looks like this:
